On October 13, 2009, fifteen (15) representatives from the business and residential community in 231’s radio beat, city and state departments and two (2) representatives from Metro Patrol Division met for the one hundred and sixty seventh Community Police Action Cooperative (CPAC) meeting.  The meeting lasted from 4-5pm.

The meeting opened with introductions.  Marti Lee announced the upcoming E-Waste Event on November 7th, gave information about the upcoming COMBAT issue on the ballot, and encouraged everyone to take the new “Link,” Southtown, Waldo, & Brookside directories, to distribute throughout the neighborhoods.

Armour Hills:  The neighborhood association will be providing cookies from Classic Cookie to Metro this month for Metro Appreciation.

TowerTower Park was much better this year.  The police did a good job of monitoring the area and having a no-tolerance policy.  The Police have been patrolling the park with the horses, ATV’s, and bikes.

Prosecutor Kerry Kanatzer will be the speaker at the next meeting.  They had a problem with a foreclosed home and the property being placed out on the sidewalk.  On Oct. 24, from 8-noo, there will be the “Honeysuckle Attack and BBQ.  All are welcome to participate.

Here’s Waldo:  Concern was raised about the vehicles being parked on the sidewalk at 79th and Wornall.  The next dog park meeting is Oct. 28, 6-7pm at the Waldo Library.

Ward Parkway Estates:  They held their annual meeting on Sept. 24 and had great participation from Metro.
